In a bid to "greatly improve esthetics," Elon Musk decided to remove headlines from news links in another feature alteration to X (formerly Twitter).
Links will now appear as the image posted in the article and text on the left-hand corner of the post with the domain name.
Users can visit the page with the news story by clicking on the image in the post which is only slightly different from photos directly uploaded to X.
Planned since August, the change appears on desktop and IOS devices. It is part of Musk's plan of having X do a lot more, including payments.
While news was never a major source of traffic on X, news organizations and reporters frequently use the site for sharing and gathering news.
Though Linda Yaccarino took over as CEO in June, she looks after business and operations, while Musk handles product and feature development.
Since Musk's takeover last year, NPR and Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) have limited their use of the site due to "toxic interactions."
In August, X also delayed loading links to news and rival sites like Instagram by five seconds.
