KeymasterShort answer: Your credit scores should update at least once a month.
Long answer: Your credit score is calculated based on the information in your credit reports. This information includes payment history, credit balance, utilization, types of credit accounts you have, etc. Credit reporting is a voluntary action. When your credit score gets updated depends on when your lenders report updates and changes in your credit behavior to the major credit bureaus.
Some lenders may report to all the major credit bureaus, others may update only to one, and a few may not report to any credit bureau. If you see your credit report not being updated despite new credit activity or errors in your credit report information, you can dispute them to alter your credit score. Credit card companies typically report once a month at the end of your monthly billing cycle. But if you have multiple credit cards or loans, each lender might be reporting to the credit bureaus on different dates. Your credit score may then get updated whenever a payment made against each account is reported to the credit bureaus.
Make sure to check which bureaus, if any, your credit card company or lender reports to. Usually, your credit scores can be seen in your monthly credit card bills. You can also log in to your account online to view your score for free.
