If you haven’t opened any credit accounts and are just starting out, you do not have a credit score. This is because credit scores are calculated based on credit activity. Consumer credit activity is reported to the major credit bureaus to compile credit reports. Your credit score is calculated based on these reports. So, without a credit account, you don’t start with a 300 or even a 0 credit score. You start with no credit score and based on at least a month’s activity (for VantageScore®), your credit reports and scores are assigned. Most people who are new to credit usually start with fair to good credit.
