This is a generic question that may not tell you much unless you specify what kind of average you are looking for. Credit scores, even the national or state averages, vary based on which scoring model is used, or which agency, or lender is requesting them. Averages vary based on other factors such as age, state, and occupation, too. According to Experian® data, the average national FICO® Score score in the U.S. was 714 in 2022.
People over 77 years of age have an average FICO® Score of 760; ages between 58-76 have 742; between ages 42-57 have 705; ages between 26-41 have 687, and the youngest population between 18-25 years of age have 679. The VantageScore® for the same groups may differ. The average national average VantageScore® is 701.
