TransUnion® does not have its own credit score. It is a credit reporting agency that compiles credit reports based on information that is given to them by lenders where you have active credit accounts. These reports contain information including your payment history, currently owed debts, how many on-time or missed payments you may have, how many credit accounts you have open, and your credit utilization ratio.
Like the two other major credit bureaus Experian® and Equifax®, TransUnion also offers credit score monitoring services. Some credit bureaus like Equifax provide you with a credit score, but they are only educational and meant to be indicative of your possible credit score. These are not actual credit scores and can be different from what you may see from the credit scoring agencies. TransUnion’s credit monitoring services let you check your VantageScore® credit score for a fee. With this, you get access to the TransUnion credit report and unlimited credit score monitoring. Some banks and other companies also calculate your FICO® Score based on your TransUnion credit report.
