Generally, most companies need a FICO® Score of above 700 for approval. However, different Discover credit cards have varying credit score requirements. For instance, the Discover It® Secured Credit Card is suitable for individuals with lower credit scores, including those with scores below 640. Discover also offers credit cards specifically designed for students, such as the Discover it® Student Cash Back and Discover it® Student Chrome. These cards are available to students who are new to credit building and may not have an extensive credit history. Other Discover credit cards that typically require a good credit score include Discover it Cash Back, NHL® Discover it®, Discover it® Chrome, and Discover it Miles.

In addition to credit scores, Discover considers factors such as your income-to-debt ratio, housing status (whether you are renting or owning), employment status, existing loans, and other relevant information when evaluating your credit card application.
