TransUnion® is a credit reporting agency and does not have its own credit scoring system. TransUnion uses VantageScore® instead. TransUnioncompiles your credit score based on public information and information reported by various lenders. Based on these reports, credit scores are calculated using certain scoring models. Every credit bureau uses a different scoring model and some agencies work with scoring companies to provide scores. TransUnion uses VantageScore version 3.0. VantageScore was developed by all three major credit bureaus – Experian®, TransUnion and Equifax® – and is one of the two most widely used credit scoring models other than FICO®. You can access your VantageScore through TransUnion if you subscribe to their credit monitoring services.
