Experian® is a credit reporting agency and does not necessarily calculate your credit score. Credit scores are calculated by companies like FICO® and VantageScore®, which are used by the different credit bureaus. 90% of lenders use FICO scores. Experian also uses FICO scores to calculate your credit scores.
The FICO scoring model also releases new versions of its scoring criteria. Currently, it has at least 16 different versions. Of these, FICO Score 8 is generally used as a reference point to understand how lenders may view your credit history. FICO calculates credit scores within the range of 300-850 and a good FICO score is between 670-739. Experian considers any score above 700 as a good score that falls within the good FICO scoring range.
